Looks modern and nice but lots of little issues with fixtures etc. (bathroom light rocker switch broken - pushed in, reading lights on bed unable to be turned on, pushing buttons on TV remote failed to activate action most times, no bath mat provided - but two hand towels, one hook on bathroom door broken, shower makes noise when running - sounds like an angry wasp in the pipes, pillows had hair and brown dirt marks on them, bed wasn't made properly - bottom sheet came loose upon pulling quilt back, room was very hot - took a long time to cool with air con, corrugated iron decor made it feel like you were in a hot shed. We paid $160 for this room after a bad experience with cheaper accommodation the night before, with the assumption that paying a high price would ensure quality, but it did not.
Fantastic hotel, rooms were nice and big, great service, breakfast was served to us before it actually started which was fantastic as we needed to leave early for a swim meet, would definitely come back and definitely recommend to anyone looking for accomodation in Parkes
I really did not expect more than just a room here and was pleasantly surprised at how well the room was presented. The attention to detail at this place is superb, right from items like the complimentary bottles of water to the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. Ingrid and Steven at reception were really friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and a visual treat too. The Black Forest Pudding and the Carrot & Apple juice are a must have.The Station Motel exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Parkes.
What a fabulous find. The Station Motel is comfortable & clean, we really appreciated the king size bed. They have a great restaurant catering for all. The meals are top class & generous.The owners & staff are wonderful, friendly, attentive & because they are all local they are very knowledgeable about their town and attractions. We would definitely recommend & stay here again. A big thank you for a great stay.
Stayed here last weekend as well as tonight and both times was very happy with service/food/amenities/location. Guys for a motel, the food here is the best I've had all round, which makes the stay an even more unique experience. Coming from Sydney and South Coast with plenty of selection for dining, I have to say I've never had better duck or ribs... Even the chips are cooked to perfection. The desserts I had last week (sticky date and black forest) were also wonderfully presented and tasted divine. Would happily drive another 5 hours just to have this food again.Oh also our rooms were super tidy, smelled good, bed is comfy, bathroom very clean. You're provided with shampoo, soap, conditioner and even shaving cream in the bathroom. Very convenient and thoughtful. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone travelling in the area.
